Longer Recess

Hey! Mrs.Pulliam! Do you want your students to have strong minds and bodies? Do you want them to have lasting relationships, be focused, and participate more? Then you should let us have longer recess.

Kids don’t have a lot of time to relax and play. I should know this because I have recess and when recess ends it feels like it just started. Kids should also relax and play to unwind and forget about learning for a while. Kids should do this because they had a long time in school. The kids also need to get active.

Second because kids need to exercise. Kids need to do this to make their bodies healthier. We should also get longer recess to make our bodies fit and strong. We should make our bodies strong for any sports were doing or going to do such as soccer, football, basketball, or baseball. Kids are becoming obese because they don’t get a lot of exercise.

The teachers will also benefit too because they will get a longer break. Teachers can catch up to anything that their going to do. They can eat their lunch and also talk to other teachers from different grades and their grades [their teammates]. The teachers can also relax and sit down because they might be tired from teaching. The teachers can also watch t.v. if they want to while were outside.

Longer recess will give kids more time to talk to their friends. Since we don’t have a lot of time to talk because we have classes, we can talk during recess. Kids will also get to talk to their friends longer. The kids not only can talk to their friends longer, but they can also talk to them about an emergency or something important. The kids can also talk about planning something like a party or buying a present for a teacher.

Last but certainly not least kids should get longer recess because researchers say that when kids have longer recess the kids will be more active in class. For example, the kids will raise their hands more often. This is because they want to answer the question more. So don’t worry about cutting off our learning time because kids will be more productive in class. The kids will also tend to get good grades to make OTES proud.

Cute and Cuddly

Mom, Dad. You know you want me to be more responsible, right. Well, researchers say that if you have a dog you are getting more responsible. So, please get me a dog.

First of all, the reason why researchers say that is because I will have lots of responsibilities like walking the dog, feeding the dog, giving it baths, playing with it and lots more. Also I would have someone to take care of. I am going to take care of my dog as much as I possibly could. Also, instead of playing outside alone, I could play with my dog and have someone to keep me safe.

Next, our dog could be a family/watchdog. It could play with the whole family. Also the dog could watch for any people who are trying to break into our house or trying to steal something and the dog could scare the person away. The dog would be a big help for our family. Also, if we get a fence around our house, we could leave him outside and he could make sure that no burglars come to our house.

Next, I know that you’re saying that our house is too small but I have a solution. We could get a small dog. It would have plenty of space to run around in the house and outside too. Because it is small, the dog wouldn’t need a lot of space to move around like the big dogs need. Also, it could sleep in my room so the dog won’t bother you at night.

You know that I’ve always wanted a dog and I always will. So if you get me a dog, I will do all my chores and chores that you don’t even tell me to do. I will do all my homework before watching TV, playing on the computer, or going outside. If you get me a dog that could be an early birthday, Christmas, or Valentines Day present.

Summing up, now you know that dogs have lots of good benefits, so if you want me to be more responsible, please give me a dog.

Super Salamander

Mom and dad, do you think I might not be able to handle a pet, like a dog? But there is a pet that’s small, inexpensive, and (hopefully) easy to handle, which is the salamander. I know you’re going to say, “But you can’t have a pet.” I know how to take care and have success in having a pet.

Now we all know pets cost a lot of money, especially salamanders, including its supplies. Now salamanders are hard for just I afford. But if I paid a least 50% of the cost, would you pay the rest? Salamanders cost around 30$(not including supplies.)Besides, salamanders are small so that means itself shouldn’t cost much either.

Salamanders are hard to take care of also. If I had a salamander; it would not just make me happy. It would also make me more responsible. If it needs a bed, I’ll make it a bed. If it needs a bath, I’ll give it a bath. Also, how will we go anywhere with having a salamander? Well, I could have it my big luggage bag, inside a jar with holes.

Another thought you may have is what will happen you’re having a big party and people who dislike salamanders are in it? I could put the salamander where nobody would look, for instance, in my closet. And I’ll only take it out when people come that like salamanders come, like my friends. And if my friends don’t like salamanders, I won’t take it out at all.

Before, mom and dad, you thought I couldn’t handle ANY pet. But now, you would think I could take care of an elephant! Now you understand I can take care of a salamander. So next time I ask can I have a pet, you’ll say, “To the pet store!”

Operation: PETS

Out in the world, people are experimenting on harmless animals. Can’t I save at least one or two? Give it a shelter, food and water. Make it happy? I want to.

People have been experimenting on animals, and some animals don’t survive. They have been putting make up on them. People think it makes them look pretty. When in real life, it’s hurting them. Scientists have been giving animals harmful shots. If I were one of those animals, I’d want someone to save me.

You usually here me say, I’m bored. If you alloy me to get a pet, you won’t even remember I said that. I’ll always have a big or small friend to play with. My other friends can play with my one and only, animal friend. So they’ll be happy too.

I usually disrupt you and disturb you.” What are you doing?” Do those four words sound familiar? They should. With a pet, I’ll always be occupied. I’ll stay out of your sweet smelling hair.

All animals need to move around. I’ll have to let my pet stretch out. I need to walk a dog. Even a cat. I can go in the back yard and let my pet run around on the patio. With all my homework, I’ll have to juggle my priorities. So I’ll have to do home, study, double check home work and take care of my pet.

When my friends come over, and we have no idea what to do, we can play with my pet. We’ll never have to say, “What do you want to do?”” I’m bored.” Asta la vista boring words. Aloha exercise. “How about we play with your pet?” Those are the words you will hear.

Is your wallet hurting? No problem. I’ll save up some money to get everything I need to take care of my pet. We live by the mall. So I’ll have to walk to the pet store and get food, a bed or bowl, maybe some toys if I have enough money. You don’t even need to raise my allowance. I can get a pet with $5.00 if I save up.

Now you see why getting a pet is so important to me. I want to be able to save at least one animals life.
