AFTER PROM
MARK YOUR CALENDARS - Thursday, March 22, 2012 is MCPP/G's 20th Year Anniversary Gala Celebration for "The Recognition of Post Prom Events." PLEASE COME and spread the word. Open House: 6:30 - 8 PM at Carver Center/MCPS/ BOE Building- 850 Hungerford Dr., Rockville, Md. Program: 7-7:30 PM.
The After Prom Committee is established to have fun-filled events our students can participate in. The After Prom Event is an alternative for students to continue an evening of festivities in a drug-and alcohol-free environment. The event is chaperoned by two Montgomery County Police officers, the NHS Security staff, and a dedicated group of Northwood parents..
This year's After-Prom theme is "The Tale of Two Cities: Hollywood/New York." After-Prom is a project sponsored by our PTSA to keep the Prom attendees safe by providing a night filled with fun, supervised activities. To make this event successful, we are looking for donations from the Northwood community of food, prizes, and of course, cash and gift cards. All donations are tax deductible. Any donation you could supply would be greatly appreciated.
Prom and After-Prom activities are limited to juniors and seniors. Therefore, we are seeking assistance from parents with students in either class, by asking for specific donations. If you are a parent of a junior or senior, please consider donating the amount of your students‘ year of graduation. So, for juniors that would be $20.13 and seniors $20.12.
These amounts are suggestions—feel free to give as your situation allows. Whether you choose to give as suggested or an increased amount, our goal is 100% participation from junior and senior parents. All donations—monetary, prizes, food, and/or volunteering your time— are welcome, and will help the Northwood PTSA plan a safe, supervised, fun-filled alternative for After-Prom.
Also, the committee is always looking for parent volunteers to help with the success of this night. Please contact Vivian Scretchen, at Vivian_Scretchen@mcpsmd.org, to volunteer.
