eScrip brings money to schools not only through grocery stores but also from restaurants and online purchases when people link their loyalty or credit/debit cards to the eScrip site and select a school.  eScrip also has its own Visa card that can earn schools money wherever people shop.

The eScrip program offers schools many funding opportunities, beyond only the Safeway rebate.  Online purchases made via eScrip's "Online Mall"--over 1,000 participating merchants--can bring schools a substantial earning percentage!
Formerly, people's online purchases would earn schools money if they first had signed up for the eScrip program (at www.escrip.com) and registered a credit or debit card, then used that card when purchasing from an eScrip Online Mall vendor after signing in to their account.

Now there's a new and easy way for Northwood to earn money from eScrip Online Mall vendors, by first clicking on the eScrip Online Mall graphic that's on Northwood's news page, PTSA page and PTSA programs page.

People can support schools "anonymously"--they do not first need to register for the eScrip program.  If shoppers already are registered with eScrip (but don't have any credit/debit cards linked to their account), they also can use this Online Mall link, sign in to their eScrip accounts, and their online purchases will appear on their monthly eScrip statement.

eScrip-registered shoppers who had designated other eScrip beneficiary schools can decide if they'd like their purchase to support those groups, or those groups as well as Northwood (for a maximum of three groups), or only Northwood.  Shoppers who are not registered for eScrip will have their online purchase rebate go to Northwood.

• When you use the Online Mall, we earn up to 16% of your purchases from over 1,000 name brand merchants
• You shop from the same websites you know and trust and pay exactly the same price
• The specific items you buy are not recorded in any way, just the total you spent from each merchant to calculate your earnings
• Be sure to visit the Online Mall first whenever you shop so we can earn every time!

Please use this link at the start of every online purchase from a participating eScrip online vendor and Northwood will benefit.  A sampling of popular Online Mall vendors and their rebate amounts are 1-800-FLOWERS (12%), Amazon (2.4%), Barnes&Noble (3.6%), ColdwaterCreek (4.2%), eBay (1.2%), eddiebauer (4.8%), expedia.com (1.5%), HarryandDavid (7.2%), HickoryFarms (4.2%), OrientalTrading (3%), PetSmart (4.8%), travelocity (1.8%) and hundreds more.  Many sites also have discount coupons that can save you money as you earn funds for Northwood.  Some Online Mall merchants are not traditional online "stores," but sites to buy airline or cruise tickets, hotel or car rental reservations, wireless/Internet services, etc.  Using this portal, you'll get to the online merchant's identical home page, and Northwood will receive a rebate with each purchase, at no additional cost to you!

Thanks so much for bringing extra funding to Northwood when you shop online for books, clothes, sports gear, flowers, home furnishings, airline tickets and other travel-related items and numerous other products!  Please pass this info on to your coworkers, neighbors, family and others who would like their online purchases to benefit our school--no matter where they live!

Safeway's "10% Back to Schools" & Receipts

IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Northwood families,

Safeway's national "10% Back to Schools" promotion makes available millions of dollars to schools each year.  Please help Northwood get a portion of this funding!

For people who were NOT signed up for Safeway's school program (run by the eScrip company) by September 7, their rebate from the six-week promotion timeframe (August 6-September 9) can be captured in two different ways.  This money can be redeemed from a person's Safeway card number.  Additionally, Safeway receipts issued between September 12-October 6 will have a special  redemption code printed on them.  Either the Safeway card number or receipt redemption code can be used at the redemption site to bring in these earnings.

People who already had signed up for Safeway's program, thru eScrip, will have their 10% promotion earnings automatically deposited to the school(s) that they had designated.  However, if they forgot to renew their accounts last school year, they MUST redeem their earnings (as explained above).  Once their accounts are renewed, Safeway again will start paying the school-year rebate, which runs from October-May, and next year's 10% promotion earnings also will come in.

This link shows what Safeway receipts with 10% promotion redemption codes look like: http://backtoschools.escrip.com/   The same code will print at each store visit for a shopper; it can be redeemed only one time.

The majority of money that Safeway shoppers had "earned" during this six-week timeframe will never get to schools--most Safeway shoppers are NOT signed up for its school program (Safeway does not advertise it, and you cannot sign up at the stores).  Many shoppers don't scrutinize their receipts to notice these valuable codes and redeem them for a school.  Please help us bring in additional funds that will be used to support our students!

When you're at Safeway, please pick up any stray receipts you might find that have redemption codes on them so they can be redeemed for Northwood!  Ask other shoppers if you can have the code portion of their receipts.  Encourage friends, family and neighbors to help us as well.  Remember that people's Safeway card numbers also can be used at the redemption site to bring in their 10% earnings.  All codes or card numbers must be redeemed no later than October 13.  The top-earning 200 schools will receive an additional $1,000.

Email me any redemption codes or Safeway card numbers (or call me at 301-585-9682) and I'll redeem them, or the codes or card numbers can be dropped off at Northwood's front office for the PTSA mailbox BEFORE October 13.  If you shop at Safeway, please also sign up your Safeway card with eScrip so that your purchases will bring money to Northwood during eight months of the school year.  (Go to www.escrip.com  click on About the program to sign up, and select Northwood High School PTSA as your group.  If you do not know your Safeway card number, first call 1-877-SAFEWAY to get it.)

Within the past week, I've redeemed over $500 worth of codes or Safeway card numbers.

This promotion happens at ALL Safeways nationwide.  For a list of other participating Safeway-affiliate stores, see the 10% Web site.  Family, friends and alumni who shop at these stores, wherever they live, also can support Northwood from their shopping!

If you previously had signed up your Safeway card with eScrip for an earlier school, you can go into your eScrip account to change where you'd like the rebate to go, to add additional cards and to update anything else in your record--you CANNOT sign up for this program a second time.  (You may have signed up for Safeway's program as early as fall 2002, when eScrip took over Safeway's school rebate; your eScrip record may be sitting in a middle or elementary school's eScrip database, earning no money if your account was not renewed.)  Please contact me if you'd like help finding or getting into your existing eScrip account.

10% Back to Schools Program

Safeway's "10% Back to Schools" promotion (http://backtoschools.escrip.com) began August 6 and ran thru September 9.  Please support Northwood High School's PTSA by purchasing participating products--look for special yellow school bus shelf stickers that identify them.  Included are General Mills and Kellogg's cereals, Capri Sun, Gatorade, Snapple, and Deer Park beverages, Nature Valley granola bars, Keebler and Nabisco snacks, Kraft, Pillsbury, Kleenex and a huge number of other food and household items.  Both many name-brand and Safeway-brand groceries are part of this summertime school fundraising bonanza.  The complete product list is here:  http://backtoschools.escrip.com/flyers/10BTS_product_list_08.pdf

Safeway's school program runs both during the school year from October to May, and also during the special 10% promotion timeframe on selected products.  If you had already registered your Safeway card (via eScrip) to benefit schools, your 10% promotion earnings automatically will go to the schools that you're currently signed up for if your account was renewed last school year.  To be sure that you're helping the schools you now want to support, sign in to your account (see below) and then make any changes to your record in the My eScrip section of the site.  You may have signed up for this program at any time since school year 2002-03, so please take a few minutes to retrieve your eScrip record, see which school(s) you had chosen, which cards were registered and if your account is renewed.  eScrip accounts that were not renewed last school year earn NO money from Safeway until they are renewed.

All other Safeway shoppers who purchase any of the participating items during this special promotion also will "earn" the 10% rebate for a school, BUT their earnings will need to be redeemed after the promotion ends for the money to be received.  These shoppers will have a special redemption code printed on their Safeway receipts beginning September 12; this code (or their Safeway card number) must be entered into a special redemption site for a school to receive this money.  If you shop at Safeway, please sign up now for its school program via eScrip to be sure that both your 10% and school-year earnings from October to May will go to schools.

If you have never signed up your Safeway card with eScrip for its school rebate, please follow the steps below to sign up, or email me the required info and I'll sign you up.  If you're not sure if you're enrolled, or have any trouble finding your existing eScrip record or getting into it, please contact me.

To sign up your Safeway card so that your shopping brings money to schools, go to www.escrip.com click on About the Program and then Sign up.  You can select up to three schools to benefit from your Safeway shopping.  Fill out a short form, add your Safeway card number, and your shopping will begin to earn money for the school(s) you've chosen.

If you don't know your Safeway card number and instead use your phone number when you pay, first call Customer Service at 1-877-SAFEWAY to get your number, then go to the eScrip site to sign up for Safeway's school program.

If you'd like me to sign you up for Safeway's school program, please email me the following--

or download the eScrip Signup Form.

You only sign up for this program one time, then renew each year forSafeway's school funding to continue.  If you signed up for Safeway's school program thru eScrip any time since fall 2002, your account may be listed for a previous school, but may be unrenewed and earning no money.  Be sure that your account is renewed, and earning money for the school(s) that you want to support!  To view your existing eScrip account, go to  www.escrip.com click on Members/Supporters and sign in--your name will display at the top of the page along with the school(s) you're signed up for.  If you forgot to renew, the page will tell you--click on the red renewal sign and your purchases again will start to earn money for the school(s) you had originally chosen.  You can update anything in your account in the "My eScrip" part of the page, such as changing the school(s) you want to receive money or adding another Safeway card if you got a new card or your family uses more than one.  Contact me if you cannot find your record or get into your account.

Anyone who signed up for the Safeway part of eScrip prior to August 1, 2007 must renew for this school year; the renewal window is open now.  If you see a red renewal check mark after signing in to your eScrip record, click on it and your account will be renewed, for the school(s) indicated under your name at the top of that page.  If you'd like to update which school(s) receive your rebate, add additional Safeway (or other) cards to your record or make any other updates to your account, you can do this in the My eScrip section.

Help the Northwood PTSA earn this money that will benefit our students and staff!  Unredeemed 10% program earnings go back to Safeway and the other participating companies.

Please tell your friends, neighbors and family about this available money--this is a national promotion, happening at all Safeway/Safeway-affiliate stores.  Volunteers are welcome to help collect Safeway receipt redemption codes starting Sept. 12.

GIANT A+ Bonus Bucks

Northwood families,

Please register your Giant Bonus Cards for this year's A+ BonusBucks school program.  Remember, you MUST sign up for this program every school year, Giant has discarded all previous years' signups!

The 2008-2009 A+BonusBucks program runs from October 3, 2008-April 2, 2009.  Go to http://www.giantfood.com/aplus to sign up.  Northwood's school code is 04641. Don't know your 12-digit Giant card number?  Call the program’s hotline at 1-877-366-2668 and Giant will look up your Bonus Card information and register you. You can select up to three schools to benefit from your purchases.  If choosing more than one school, be sure to input all schools at the same time--if you update your selections later, the last transaction overrides the previous one.

It's best to sign up for Giant's program online, instead of filling out a designation card at Giant stores or mailing those cards in.  Why?  You'll be signed up immediately online.  Designation cards filled out at stores are sent out to a data processing unit, which takes extra time.  Also, if there's a discrepancy on the designation card vs. what's in Giant's database for that Bonus card number, the registration cannot be processed.

Look for the Giant table at Wednesday's Back-to-School Night.  You can fill out a designation card there, then I'll bring those cards home and sign you up.  You also can email me your Bonus card number and name, and I'll enroll you in this year's program.

Please encourage friends, family and neighbors to register their Giant cards to help Northwood!  Last school year Northwood earned $2,106.12 from this program.  This is FREE MONEY for our school from your regular Giant grocery shopping, by just linking your Bonus card number to Northwood!

Snider's Receipts

Save Snider's receipts all year.  They can be dropped off in the school’s front office or brought to  school events.  This program works on a calendar year—currently any 2008 receipts are worth money to schools.  2008 receipts should be submitted to Northwood by January 2009.  Then be sure to save 2009 Snider’s receipts.  Northwood will earn 1% from your purchases. Snider's is an independent grocery store located in Silver Spring, on Seminary Rd. near Georgia Ave.  See www.sniderfoods.com to learn more about this wonderful store that supports our schools!

Target

Enroll your Target Visa card in the Take Charge of Education program. Enter the requested info for Northwood High School (school ID 123627) at www.target.com/tcoe or by calling 1-800-316-6142, and the school gets a percentage from purchases using that card. This program does not require any renewal, but be sure to update your school selection if you now want to support Northwood.  Shop online at target.com with your Target Visa card (which you’ve also registered in your eScrip account) and Northwood will earn from both programs!
