ABOUT THE MUSIC MEN |

Mr. Johns was born and raised in
Jeannette
,
Pennsylvania
, a suburb of
Pittsburgh
. After graduating from
Jeannette
High School
in 2000, he went on to earn his Bachelor of Music degree from
West Virginia
University
in 2004. Through high school and college Mr. Johns has performed with countless school and Community Bands, Orchestras, Jazz Ensembles, and Drum & Bugle Corps. Most notably were the Seton Hill College Symphonic Winds Ensemble, the OVations (Ohio Valley) Youth Orchestra, the Jeannette Community Band, the WVU Wind Symphony, “The Pride of West Virginia: The Mountaineer Marching Band,”and The Nightstorm senior Drum and Bugle Corps.
After college Mr. Johns began his MCPS career as the Assistant Band Director at
Walter
Johnson
High School
, and has since moved to be the Director of Instrumental Music at
Northwood
High School
. He is still an active musician in the area, regularly performing with the Rockville Brass Band and other community groups. In addition to teaching at
Northwood
High School
, Mr. Johns is the Brass Instructor for the United States Naval Academy Drum and Bugle Corps.

PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE |
Operas that include title/major/compramario roles are: Mahagonny, Weill; Gianni Schicchi, Puccini; Albert Herring, Britten; Don Giovanni, Mozart; and Dialogues of the Carmalites, Poulenc. |
Oratorios, Masses and Cantatas include: Elijah, Mendelssohn; Ode to Saint Cecelia, Handel; Requiem, Mozart; Saint Nicholas Cantata, Britten (televised from the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception - EWTN ); The Company of Heaven, Britten; Das Berliner Requiem, Weill; & Heiligmesse, Haydn. |
Other performances include invitations to perform for the Premier of Bermuda multiple times, recitals, church appearances throughout DC Metro/Baltimore Area Churches and Synagogues. I sang at B'nai Israel Synagogue for seven years under Cantor Robert Kievel and my most current job was singing for Our Lady of Mercy, Potomac, MD. |

Mr. Barker earned at BME from Oklahoma Baptist University and an MCM from SBTS in Louisville, Kentucky. He began his teaching career in Florida before moving to Texas where he directed choral and instrumental music and produced two state champion choirs. He currently teaches instrumental music at Northwood. |
