eScrip

eScrip brings money to schools not only through grocery stores but also from restaurants and online purchases when people link their loyalty or credit/debit cards to the eScrip site and select a school.  eScrip also has its own Visa card that can earn schools money wherever people shop.

The eScrip program offers schools many funding opportunities, beyond only the Safeway rebate.  Online purchases made via eScrip's "Online Mall"--over 1,000 participating merchants--can bring schools a substantial earning percentage!
Formerly, people's online purchases would earn schools money if they first had signed up for the eScrip program (at www.escrip.com) and registered a credit or debit card, then used that card when purchasing from an eScrip Online Mall vendor after signing in to their account.

Now there's a new and easy way for Northwood to earn money from eScrip Online Mall vendors, by first clicking on the eScrip Online Mall graphic that's on Northwood's news page, PTSA page and PTSA fundraising page.

People can support schools "anonymously"--they do not first need to register for the eScrip program.  If shoppers already are registered with eScrip (but don't have any credit/debit cards linked to their account), they also can use this Online Mall link, sign in to their eScrip accounts, and their online purchases will appear on their monthly eScrip statement.

eScrip-registered shoppers who had designated other eScrip beneficiary schools can decide if they'd like their purchase to support those groups, or those groups as well as Northwood (for a maximum of three groups), or only Northwood.  Shoppers who are not registered for eScrip will have their online purchase rebate go to Northwood.

• When you use the Online Mall, we earn up to 16% of your purchases from over 1,000 name brand merchants
• You shop from the same websites you know and trust and pay exactly the same price
• The specific items you buy are not recorded in any way, just the total you spent from each merchant to calculate your earnings
• Be sure to visit the Online Mall first whenever you shop so we can earn every time!

Please use this link at the start of every online purchase from a participating eScrip online vendor and Northwood will benefit.  A sampling of popular Online Mall vendors and their rebate amounts are 1-800-FLOWERS (12%), Amazon (2.4%), Barnes&Noble (3.6%), ColdwaterCreek (4.2%), eBay (1.2%), eddiebauer (4.8%), expedia.com (1.5%), HarryandDavid (7.2%), HickoryFarms (4.2%), OrientalTrading (3%), PetSmart (4.8%), travelocity (1.8%) and hundreds more.  Many sites also have discount coupons that can save you money as you earn funds for Northwood.  Some Online Mall merchants are not traditional online "stores," but sites to buy airline or cruise tickets, hotel or car rental reservations, wireless/Internet services, etc.  Using this portal, you'll get to the online merchant's identical home page, and Northwood will receive a rebate with each purchase, at no additional cost to you!

Thanks so much for bringing extra funding to Northwood when you shop online for books, clothes, sports gear, flowers, home furnishings, airline tickets and other travel-related items and numerous other products!  Please pass this info on to your coworkers, neighbors, family and others who would like their online purchases to benefit our school--no matter where they live!

Safeway's "10% Back to Schools" & Receipts

The results are in!  Northwood is among the top 200 schools nationwide in Safeway's 2008 "10% Back to Schools" promotion, earning an additional $1,000 bonus!

Safeway and its affiliate stores held this five-week promotion this past summer.  Any shopper who bought participating products earned 10% credit for schools.  Shoppers already enrolled in the eScrip program with their Safeway cards had this credit automatically contributed to their designated schools.  People not signed up with this program (or who had unrenewed eScrip accounts) received a special redemption code printed on their Safeway receipts.  The Northwood PTSA collected and redeemed these receipt codes from shoppers for Northwood credit.

Special thanks to everyone who helped our school earn this additional funding--we are number 52 out of the top 200 schools that will receive an extra $1,000 bonus!  Only two Maryland schools are among this year's "Top 200 Schools."  Northwood was the leading group in the Safeway East division!

See this link for more information: http://www.backtoschools.escrip.com/  Northwood's gross earnings from this promotion were $3,749.68 (this amount does not reflect eScrip's standard service fee).  The additional $1,000 bonus brings Northwood's total 10% promotion net earnings to $4,187.22!  eScrip money helps fund projects that benefit our students.

If you ever shop at Safeway--or have family or friends in other locations who shop at Safeway affiliates and would like to support Northwood--be sure that your Safeway cards are registered for its school rebate program thru the eScrip company.  Go to www.escrip.com  Click on About the Program and sign up.  If you had previously signed up (at any time since fall 2002 when this program was outsourced to the eScrip company), your Safeway card is registered with eScrip.  However, your Safeway shopping only earns a school rebate if your eScrip account is renewed each school year.  If you think you had signed up in the past, go to www.escrip.com  Click on Members/Supporters and sign in.  You can update anything in your record in the My eScrip section.  If you have trouble locating your existing eScrip record/getting into your account, please contact me.

Don't know your Safeway card number?  First call Safeway's Customer Service at 1-877-SAFEWAY and a Safeway rep. will look up your card number.  Then sign up for Safeway's school program at the eScrip Web site.

Thanks to the 124 people who currently are registered for the eScrip program to benefit Northwood, from their Safeway shopping, their restaurant or online purchases, or both.  Safeway's regular school-year program runs from October-May.  Restaurant and online purchase rebates--and all other parts of the eScrip program--happen year round.  Online purchases now can benefit Northwood even it you don't enroll in the eScrip program, by using a special link to the eScrip Online Mall located on Northwood's Web site.  Schools receive rebates at no cost to you.  Safeway shoppers continue to earn all other Safeway perks, such as United bonus miles.

And a very special thank you to Safeway for its continuing strong commitment to education!

GIANT A+ Bonus Bucks

The totals are in and Northwood earned $2,759.68 from Giant's 2008-09 A+ BonusBucks program!  Totals can be found for participating schools here:  http://www.giantfood.com/our_stores/bonus_bucks/account_totals.htm

Thanks so much to everyone who took one minute to link your Giant BonusCard number to Giant's Web site so that your purchases brought a rebate to Northwood.  Schools earn money during this program's six-month timeframe.

Please remember that EVERYONE must register for Giant's program EVERY school year.  Giant will re-open its A+ database at the beginning of next school year; during the summer all schools' totals will be reset to zero.  Northwood's Giant code is 04641.

To make any changes in your Giant BonusCard record, call the BonusCard hotline at 1-877-366-2668 and a Giant rep. will look up your account.  If you use a phone number at the store instead of your card, that number must be in your Giant record.  If you've changed your phone number since getting your BonusCard, be sure to keep your record up to date so that the linking works!  You also can view your Giant record online here and input any changes:

Snider's Receipts

Snider's shoppers: Please round up all 2009 Snider's receipts and have your student bring them to Northwood's front office for the PTSA mailbox.  Snider's will pay schools a 1% rebate.  Please contact me for alternate ways to get your receipts to me so that I can tally them.

Target

Enroll your Target Visa card in the Take Charge of Education program. Enter the requested info for Northwood High School (school ID 123627) at www.target.com/tcoe or by calling 1-800-316-6142, and the school gets a percentage from purchases using that card. This program does not require any renewal, but be sure to update your school selection if you now want to support Northwood.  Shop online at target.com with your Target Visa card (which you’ve also registered in your eScrip account) and Northwood will earn from both programs!

Schools are paid twice a year, in September and March.  Target donates 1% of all Target Visa Credit Card and Target Credit Card purchases made at a Target store or at Target.com and 1% of all Target Check Card purchases made at a Target Store. Target donates 1/2% of all Target Visa Credit Card purchases made outside of Target.

Office Depot "5% Back to Schools Program"

Office Depot's %% Back to Schools Program gives shoppers an opportunity to help local schools earn credits for free supplies when shoppers purchase school supplies. Northwood's ID number for this program is 70207291. Cashiers also can look up the school’s number.  Please remember to mention this program at check out so that Northwood can benefit. The program runs all year long at all Office Depot stores.
