The 2009-2010 school year marks the presentation of the second annual Montgomery County NAACP Excellence in Education Principal and Teacher of the Year Awards.
One MCPS principal and one MCPS teacher will be recognized for their commitment to closing the achievement gap through programs meeting the academic and social needs of all students. The awards will be presented at the Sunday, April 25, 2010, Annual Freedom Fund Dinner.
Who Can Be Nominated?
Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) principals and teachers
Who Can Nominate a Principal or Teacher?
A student, parent, teacher, support staff, administrator, or community member may nominate someone for the award. Self nominations will not be eligible.
How Do You Nominate Someone?
Read the criteria and submit a nomination packet including the following:
- A signed, one-page letter nominating the candidate
- Current resume of nominee
- A description of contributions the nominee has made in each of the nomination criteria (no more than 5 pages total)
- Two black and white or color photographs of the nominee (2”x 3” head and shoulder preferred)
