Northwood families and friends,
Safeway's annual "10% Back to Schools" promotion shopping period is happening now, thru September 15. See this link for details: http://www.back2schools.escrip.com/
This promotion can earn significant funding for Northwood's PTSA. Last year we raised over $4,000 from just this part of the eScrip program; $1,000 of this was a special bonus awarded to the top-earning 200 schools nationwide! Northwood's PTSA uses eScrip funding to support our students and staff in many wonderful ways.
How this promotion works: Any Safeway shopper who purchases among 2,000 "participating products" during this five-week shopping period earns credit for a school (see link above for product list). If these shoppers are signed up for the eScrip program with their Safeway cards before September 7, their 10% Back to Schools earnings automatically will go to the school(s) they're registered for.
All other Safeway shoppers will receive a "redemption code" on their Safeway receipts from September 18-October 9. These codes must be entered online at a special site so a school receives credit for what shoppers had earned during the earlier five-week shopping period timeframe. Most codes are never redeemed, so no school receives this money!
To make this promotion easier for your painless fundraising committee (that's me!), PLEASE--if you haven't yet done so--register your Safeway cards now at www.escrip.com so that all your 10% promotion earnings will automatically be credited (then you won't need to look for and redeem any codes!). Once you're registered for Safeway's eScrip program, your shopping during October-May (Safeway's eight-month school-year rebate period) also will benefit the school(s) you select. You can support up to three schools. You cannot register for this program at Safeway stores.
To sign up, you MUST have your Safeway card number. If you don't know your card number (but instead use your phone number at checkout), please call Safeway's Customer Service at 1-877-SAFEWAY (Monday-Friday) and someone will look up your Safeway account. Then go to www.escrip.com click on About the Program, and register your card. Select Northwood High School PTSA as your beneficiary group, or look it up by zip code or city.
eScrip signups roll over into each school year. Please be sure that you're supporting the school(s) you currently intend to help, and that your eScrip account is renewed each year. You can go into your eScrip record at any time to update your info (such as to change your designated schools, add another Safeway card, or add credit/debit cards for the other parts of eScrip's program), as well as to view your monthly contribution statement. To view your eScrip account, go to www.escrip.com click on Members/Supporters and sign in. Then go to the "My eScrip" section to get to your personal page.
If you think you've signed up for this program earlier at a previous school but can't locate your eScrip record, I can help find it. Safeway outsourced its school program to the eScrip company in school year 2002-03, so your eScrip account could be listed for your student's 2002 or later school.
Volunteers wanted! I really could use some help during the "redemption period" of this promotion (September 18-October 13). This involves asking Safeway shoppers to donate their redemption codes; the codes then are entered into a special redemption site for Northwood credit. This site will shut down promptly at midnight October 13.
This promotion happens at ALL Safeway/Safeway-affiliate stores nationwide. Safeways in other parts of the country sometimes have different names, such as Genuardi's in PA/NJ, Dominick's in the Chicago area, etc. Friends or relatives who shop at any of these stores also can support Northwood!
Giant shoppers--Giant's A+ BonusBucks database (www.giantfood.com/aplus) will open for signups near the end of August. The 2009-10 program runs from October 9-March 25. Unlike eScrip's program, EVERYONE must register his Giant BonusCards for Giant's school program EVERY school year--these school registrations do NOT roll over into the following school years.
Snider's shoppers--Please continue to save ALL 2009 Snider's receipts. Just put them in an envelope and drop them by Northwood's front office for the PTSA mailbox when it's convenient. Each February, schools submit tallied receipts from the prior year to Snider's for a 1% rebate. If you put your name on the envelope, I can notify you prior to the annual submission deadline.
