ABOUT THE HSAs
The Maryland High School Assessments (HSAs) are tests that measure school and individual student progress toward Maryland's High School Core Learning Goals. Passing the HSA is a graduation requirement beginning with the graduating class of 2009. There are two ways to fulfill the HSA requirement:
- Students can earn a passing score on all four exams; or
- Students can use the combined-score option, which requires earning a total score of at least 1602. The combined-score option allows students to offset lower performance on one exam with higher performance on another.
While it would be virtually impossible to provide all the information students need to know for the HSAs on a single site, this page can act as a point of reference for students who are taking the HSAs. On this page you will find terms, formulas, strategy tips, and links to HSA practice tests and sites compiled from various references. Please take advantage of the information on the site and continue to study on your own. Students can best prepare for the HSAs by attending class, paying attention, and completing their assignments and homework.
