Web Announcements 11-17-09

  • On-site admissions events are being held throughout Montgomery County high schools.  Upcoming events include:  Trinity U., Hampton, Morgan, University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Norfolk State.  To participate in any of these events, please see Ms. Davis in the College/Career Information or download the Student Interest Form from the school web site.  Click on College and Career Info.
  • The Key Club canned food drive is in full swing.  Help feed the hungry. Bring non-perishable foods to 1st period and the class with the most food wins a doughnut breakfast.
  • Seniors selling fruit. All the money for the sale is due to Ms. Dorga in room 337 no later than November 25, 2009.  The top seller will receive two FREE prom tickets. The second place seller will receive a FREE yearbook.  All checks are payable to Northwest High School, Class of 2010. Delivery of the fruit and cheesecake will be the week of December 14. Seniors, help raise money for your Senior Class!! For more information, please come see Ms. Dorga in room 337. We will be back after this.The SPEAK Club meeting for tomorrow has been cancelled and moved to next Wednesday. Members please be sure to attend, all new members are welcome. Attention all seniors!  It’s that time of the year cap and gowns are officially on sale!  Bring in your order form and check to Ms. Dorga’s room 337 beginning today at lunch.  Orders will only be taken at lunch.  Be sure to get yours before winter break or the price increases. Attention all students how have not yet received your report card. Please pick it up from the counseling office, before school, at lunch, or afterschool. If you are a junior or senior planning to major in business, consider the Montgomery College Macklin Business Institute Scholars program.  MC Macklin will be at Northwest TOMORROW at noon.  Sign up for this information session in the college/career information center!
  • 2013 Class officers: There is a mandatory meeting TODAY during lunch in Ms. Turney’s room. Please be there!!!
  • Congratulations to the following students who were named Citizens of the Quarter by staff members for the first quarter. Check out the posters around the building for these students’ names as well as students who earned Straight A’s for the first quarter. Pictures of Straight-A students and Citizens of the Quarter will be taken tomorrow in the auditorium. Passes are to certificates students received in 1st period. Teachers please excuse these students tomorrow at the appointed times, so they do not miss the photo shoot.
