November 6

  • Anyone interested in playing in a winter volleyball league, boy or girl, please meet in Mr. Smith’s room, room 222 on Tuesday the 10th.
  • If you were at the Black Hole Wednesday night, you definitely got your money’s worth for the annual Powder Puff game.  What a show put on by both the junior and senior girls in this super competitive match-up.  The juniors struck 1st on a nifty 30 yard touchdown run by quarterback Emily Forst and held onto a 7-0 lead at half.  The seniors mounted a late comeback and marched down the field on precise passing by senior quarterback Bianca Dalal.  Senior wide receiver Shannon McGuire made some spectacular catches, including the game tying score with about 5 minutes to play in regulation.  Tied at 7 a piece, the game went into overtime where each team would get a possession at the 10 yard line with 4 chances to score.  The juniors got 1st crack and Forst found Kassie Nantz open in the endzone to go up 14-7.  The seniors refused to back down and Dalal threw a strike to Rachel Novosad to even the score at 14.  The seniors were fingertips away from getting a TD in the second overtime, but were unable to score.  On their second turn, the juniors managed to push the ball up to the 1 yard line.  On 4th and goal Emily Forst punched it in for the game winning TD.  Both teams played extremely tough and their efforts were greatly appreciated.   Great job ladies and thank you for such a dramatic ending!!!
