Music Final Music Project

Assignment: Please select one project from the list below and be prepared to make a class presentation. Your presentation should be approximately 4-8 minutes long. Good luck! Use the media center resources for those projects with a

1. Perform a song for the class - either singing or playing an instrument. (an original song is extra credit)

2. Form a band or choral group and perform a piece of music for the class. (an original song is extra credit)

3. Make a diarama showing a musical event.

4. Describe and draw 5-7 new or ancient musical instruments and provide a description of it which should include its origins.

5. Make a scrapbook of 5-7 newspaper or magazine articles about music and write a report or short description about them.

6. Attend a concert, bring back the program and write a report about what you saw which should include what you liked or didn't like using musical terms.

7. Make an instrument with a pleasant sound and demonstrate for the class.

8. Write a report on a famous composer or musician and present it to the class.

9. Write a song parody using a current issue for text and perform for the class
.

10. Perform a dance and/or creative movement which interprets the emotion and meaning of the music.

Tips for a Well Integrated Visual Project

Whether you create a poster, tripod, pamphlet, fact sheet, power point, web page, game or any other type of presentation, you can apply the following tips.

 1. The main theme is clear when one first looks at the display. A title helps to identify the theme.

 2. Appropriate and accurate main ideas support the theme.

 3. There is a wholeness about the display. It does not seem like a random collection of information.

 4. The information in the display is accurate and shows that the student understands the concepts.

 5. Space, shapes, textures, and colors provide information themselves and add to the overall effectiveness.

 6. Pictures, photographs, drawings, diagrams, graphs add to the overall effectiveness of the display.

 7. The format of the display is appropriate to the task and to the audience for which it is intended.

 8. The display accomplishes its purpose with its intended audience.

 9. The display is very neat and presentable.

 10. The display is creative and interesting.

It helps to practice and practice in front of a mirror or a family member. The more you go over the oral presentation at home, the more comfortable you will be in front of the class.
