Geography:

1. How did the physical geographic characteristics of Egypt affect the development of that civilization?

2. How did the Egyptians modify their environment to meet their needs and wants?

3. How did geography influence the settlement patterns and population growth of the region?

Economics:

4. How did the Egyptians use their natural, capital and human resources to produce more goods and services? What technologies helped? What specialization of labor occurred?

5. What role did trade and transportation play in providing needed goods and services?

Culture:

6. How did the environment and cultural diffusion influence the development of the Egyptian civilization?

7. What were the major cultural developments of the Egyptian civilization, including government, religion, social classes, written language, art, science and learning?

Political Systems:

8. How did the Egyptian political/government system work? How did it attempt to balance the following three goals:

a) to maintain order b) to protect individual rights c) to provide for the common good?
