Family Learning Night
As part of its parent outreach, NHE will host Family Learning Night events throughout the 2010-2011 school year. Family Learning Nights were developed to encourage families to take time and enjoy reading, writing and math together.
Each evening will have a reading/language arts or math theme, which will encourage parents to communicate with their children and increase oral language development. These events will begin with a dinner, followed by lessons for the parents and students. Before the session ends, parents will have time to practice their newly acquired strategies with their children. At the end of each session students will receive a writing/reading resource that will be used at home. All sessions begin at 6:30 PM.
