C2.0 Mathematics 6

This course is for students who have completed the Kindergarten to Grade 5 mathematics curriculum. Students in C 2.0 Math 6 will go on to C 2.0 Investigations into Mathematics (IM) the following year. Units of study include the following:

  • Unit 1: Ratios, Fractions, and Decimals
  • Unit 2: Number relationship
  • Unit 3: Expressions and Equations
  • Unit 4: Geometric and Statistical relationships

C2.0 Investigation Into Mathematics (IM)

Curriculum 2.0 Investigations into Mathematics (IM) extends students’ understanding of mathematical concepts developed in C2.0 Mathematics 6 and accelerated the pace of instruction to prepare for c2.0 Algebra 1. Students who successfully complete C2.0 IM are prepared for C2.0 in Algebra 1 course in grade 8. Units of study include the following:

  • Unit 1: Rational Numbers and Exponents
  • Unit 2: Proportionality and Linear Relationships
  • Unit 3: Statistics and Probability
  • Unit 4: Creating, Comparing, and Analyzing Geometric Figures

C2.0 Algebra 1

Algebra 1 is designed to analyze and model real-world phenomena. Exploration linear, exponential, and quadratic functions forms the foundation of the course. Key characteristics and representations of functions – graphic, numeric, symbolic, and verbal – are analyzed and compared. Students develop fluency in solving equations and inequalities. One and two-variable data sets are interpreted using mathematical models. Topics of study include the following:

  • Unit 1: Relationships between Quantities and Reasoning with Equations
  • Unit 2: Linear and Exponential Relationships
  • Unit 3: Descriptive Statistics
  • Unit 4: Quadratic Relationships
  • Unit 5: Generalizing Function Properties

C2.0 Honors Geometry

Geometry formalizes and extends students’ geometric experiences from the elementary and middle school grades. Students explore more complex geometric situations and deepen their understanding of geometric relationships, progressing towards formal mathematical arguments. Instruction at this level will focus on the understanding and application of congruence as a basis for developing formal proofs; the relationship among similarity, trigonometry and triangles; the relationship between two and three-dimensional objects and their measurements; exploration of geometric descriptions and equations for conic sections; and application of geometric concepts in modeling situations. Topics of study include the following:

  • Unit 1: Constructions, Congruence, and Transformations
  • Unit 2: Similarity, Right Triangles, and Trigonometry
  • Unit 3: Extending the Three Dimensions
  • Unit 4: Connecting Algebra and Geometry through Coordinates Geometric Measurement and Dimension
  • Unit 5: Circles

C2.0 Honors Algebra 2

Honors Algebra 2 is a high school credit-bearing mathematics course Students who successfully complete both semesters and pass the semester B final exam earn 1 mathematics credit toward graduation. Students successful in this course will take Honors Pre-Calculus the following year. Units of study include the following:

  • UNIT 1: EQUATIONS AND FUNCTIONS
  • UNIT 2: LINEAR SYSTEMS AND MATRICES
  • UNIT 3: POLYNOMIAL FUNCTIONS
  • UNIT 4: SEQUENCES AND SERIES
  • UNIT 5: POWER AND RADICAL FUNCTIONS
  • UNIT 6: EXPONENTIAL AND LOGARITHMIC FUNCTIONS
  • UNIT 7: RATIONAL FUNCTIONS
  • UNIT 8: CONIC SECTIONS
