The book club will meet to choose, discuss and do fun activities with different books.  Students will be required to read the chosen book by the next club meeting date.

Participants learn the rules, strategies of the game, and are involved in tournament play. At the same time, they improve their critical thinking skills.

Creative Writing

Are you looking to tap into your creative side?  Do you have stories in your head that you just want to share?  If so, the creative writing club is for you.  Each month we will focus on a different style of writing, such as poetry or short stories.  All those interested in writing are welcome!

Do you like to create solutions to problems?  Do you like to build things?  If so, the Engineering Club is for you!

Do you enjoy digging in the dirt, planting seeds, and pulling weeds?  If you do then the NCC gardening club is the club for you.  Garden club members will be planting and caring for the NCC Maryland Native plant butterfly garden as well as keeping the NCC school yard ecosystem a healthy habitat for many other plants and animals.

This group will explore their interests.  The girls will learn about themselves by doing physical, mental, and creative activities.

Save the planet!  In this club you will run the NCC recycling program; be a Power Ranger who helps reduce how much electricity our school uses; feed our garbage-eating worms and come up with creative ways to help NCC be an environmentally friendly place to be.

Are you intrigued with making movies with still images on the computer? If so, get ready to learn more about the Photostory 3 program and more.  Students will prepare projects for entry into the MCPS Media Festival competition held in the spring.

Do you like eating healthy?  In Nutrition club, we will learn about foods that are not only healthy, but taste good too!  We will even make food during some sessions.

Are you a shutterbug?  If you have a strong interest in photography and own a digital camera, then this is the club for you. We will focus on composition, lighting and MCPS Media Festival competition entries.  See you in a flash!

Safety Patrols provide on-campus safety at major crosswalks and assist bus drivers. They assist the Bethesda Bus Depot with bus evacuation drills. During fire drills, the captain is the only person that assists the principal.

The Student Government Association is made up of class representatives, grade level Vice Presidents, a Communications Manager, Co-Secretaries, and Co-Presidents. They meet once a week to develop activities that promote school spirit, community service, leadership and responsibility.

Yoga Club

Yoga promotes a way of learning that's natural for children.  Children learn through movement.  It is a great calming exercise for the mind and body.  It improves balance, strength, and flexibility.  Yoga will promote a sense of relaxation in the middle of a busy day.
