Families of Grade 5 students who reside in the Middle
School Magnet Consortium will receive a Choice
application through the mail. Applications for Grade 5
students who live outside the Consortium will be
available on this Web site and at any MCPS elementary
school, beginning in late November. The application will provide parents with the
opportunity to select and rank order the middle schools of
their choice, based on the magnet programs of interest. Questions about the
application process should be directed to the Consortium
Office at 301 649 8081.
Choice forms are due December 8, 2006. All Grade 5 students who attend MSMC elementary schools will return their Choice form to their current elementary school. Choice forms for all other Grade 5 applicants
must be mailed or delivered by the due date to the DCCAPs Office, Spring Mill Field Office, 11721 Kemp Mill Road, Silver Spring, MD 20902.
MCPS staff will provide
information about the
Choice process and magnet
programs at meetings in
October, November, and early December. Each meeting will
provide information on
courses, program components,
and details of the
Choice process.
