World Studies 6 - Ancient Greece
Mastery Objective: Students will be able to design a presentation that explains the major cultural achievements of the Greek civilization, such as art, science, political systems, and philosophy.
Dr. Franklin -- Advisor
Each student (or pair of students) is being asked to research information using books, magazines, and online resources (provided through the MLK Media Center website) and then create a power-point presentation reflecting their findings. The students will be given several days in the MLK Media Center to conduct research and design the presentation. The power-point presentation will be the “written” aspect of this project. This project is SUMMATIVE and will account for up to 20% of the entire grade.
Individual vs. Partners
The project is designed for either individuals or partners to work together. Each power-point will have opportunities for students to share their information. However, there will be sections of the presentation in which each individual will be responsible for their own sections. The rubric (below) will be used. Each individual may receive different grades based upon the information presented in their individual sections.
The Presentation will be at least 7 slides of power-point (for the individual) and at least 11 for the pair. Each power-power-point presentation must include the following:
- An Title Page Slide (A)
- An Introduction Slide (B)
- 4-6 Slides of important information about the topic that meets the criteria (answers the questions)*(C)
- Analysis/Conclusion Slide*(D)
- Sources (Bibliography) Slide-explaining what resources were used. (E)
*If doing in a group, each student must do their own sections (C and D) on their own.
