Ninth Grade Initiative

Ninth Grade Reminders

HOMEWORK:

  • Write down assignments in your planners EVERY DAY.  If you don’t have homework in a particular class, write the subject and “none.”
  • Make sure you have the correct worksheets, page numbers, etc. so you can do your assignments at home.
  • Once you are done the homework assignment, remember to put it in your binder/folder so you can turn it in the next day.

ORGANIZATION:

  • Have a 3 ring binder with a separate section for each class OR have a separate folder for each class.  Organize the sections by class period.
  • Place all handouts, worksheets, study guides, etc. in your binder or folder.
  • Follow the note taking guidelines posted in your classroom and on the MHS website.

TIME MANAGEMENT:

  • Plan ahead!  Look through the calendar/syllabus from all of your teachers.  Make sure you write down due dates and deadlines for all long-term/major projects.
  • Come up with a study schedule for tests/quizzes…especially if you have more than one assessment on the same day.
  • Check EdLine for assignment updates and grades.

ASK QUESTIONS!!  If you are confused or don’t understand something, please ask your teacher!  He/she is there to help you.  Asking questions in class makes some students nervous.  SO…ask those questions before/after class or during your teachers’ office hours.
