The Academy of Education is an academy of interest for students who have a strong interest or career desire in the teaching profession. Students will be provided the opportunity to study, participate and apply teaching and learning strategies.

1. State and National teaching standards
2. Certification requirements
3. Successful lesson planning, writing objectives and how assessments are made
4. The Art of Teaching
5. Classroom management techniques
6. First-hand experience working with young children
7. Social realities and today's school
8. Teaching Diverse Learners
9. How to address learners' individual needs

Admission Requirements:
1. Grade Level - Sophomore
2. Two Teacher Recommendation
3. Excellent Attendance
4. Strong Commitment to the program
5. Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA
