School Goal(s):
 Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Proficiency for K-5 
Instructional Goal(s): see below 
K-2 Goals: Literacy:All students with a focus on students who receive special education services and Hispanic Free and Reduced Meals (FARMS) students will meet or exceed the Performance Level goals for Phonological Awareness, Phonics/Word Recognition and Sentence Reading Fluency on MAP-RF (Measures of Academic Performance - Reading Fluency).
Mathematics: All students with a focus on students who receive special education services and Hispanic FARMS students will meet or exceed an assigned score of a 3 in Numbers and Operations in base ten through focused instruction on number sense and place value on MAP-P (primary math). 
3-5 Goals: Literacy: All students with a focus on students who receive special education services and Hispanic FARMs students will meet or exceed an assigned score of a 3 in informational texts on MAP-R (reading).
Mathematics: All students with a focus on students who receive special education services and Hispanic FARMs students will meet or exceed as assigned score of a 3 in the Base Ten and Numbers and Operations strands in Algebraic Thinking by focusing on number sense and place value on MAP-M (math)
  What will the focus of your work be?
Professional Learning on the Standards Reading:
  • Grade level teacher analysis of phonics, phonemic awareness and reading fluency standards in grades K-2 including all specialists who support each grade using The Common Core Companion: The Standards Decoded.
  • Grade level teacher analysis of informational text standards in grades 3-5 including all specialists who support each grade using The Common Core Companion: The Standards Decoded
  • Collaborative planning meetings with Special Education Teachers focused on individual IEP (Individualized Education Program) needs. 
  • Collaborative planning meetings with ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teachers focused on vocabulary development, writing strategies, and WIDA (World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment) standards. 
  • Training on vocabulary development to support students receiving special education and ESOL services.
Math:
  • Grade level teacher analysis of number sense and place value standards in grades K-2 including all specialists who support each grade using The Common Core Companion: The Standards Decoded
  • Grade level teacher analysis of Base Ten and Numbers and Operations strands in Algebraic Thinking in grades 3-5 including all specialists who support each grade using The Common Core Companion: The Standards Decoded
  • Collaborative planning meetings with Special Education Teachers focused on individual IEP needs. 
  • Collaborative planning meetings with ESOL teachers focused on vocabulary development, writing strategies, and WIDA standards. 
  • Training on vocabulary development to support students receiving special education and ESOL services.
 
Analyzing Data to Inform Instruction
  • Monthly student data analysis in reading and mathematics focused on the instructional goals including quarterly district assessments and MAP assessment data,. Teachers will reflect on student performance, analyze what worked well and upgrades for instruction moving forward. 
  • Quarterly special education data review focused on student achievement towards mastery of grade level goals in reading and math. 
  • Monthly review of interventions implemented by staff to determine effectiveness and determine next steps for students. 
  • Analysis of staff and student surveys focused on instructional practices to determine impact on instruction.     
 
Equitable and Culturally Responsive Instructional Strategies
  • Staff will engage in monthly professional development around Zaretta Hammond’s Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain and the 5 Key Moves for Culturally Responsive Teaching. 
  • Collect student voice data focused on Equitable Strategies through student surveys and targeted focus groups. Analyze the data collected to determine differences between reported student experiences and the current state of implementation of strategies by staff.
 
School Climate and Culture
  • Staff training on the implementation of mindfulness moments in every classroom. 
  • Staff training on the implementing of Restorative Circles. 
  • Promote BeWell 365 and positive behavioral incentives. 
  • Utilize 10 Simple Ways to Build a Collaborative, Successful Work Environment, with the leadership team to analyze ways to strengthen the level of collaboration among staff. 
  • Increase interactions between staff and the reading specialist, special education teachers, ESOL teachers and the staff development teacher to further build collaboration across the school. 
  • Celebrate student successes at Town Hall meetings.
