New PTSA Information and Upcoming Events
Please join us for our LAST PTSA meeting of the year! We will be celebrating our PTSA year, holding elections, and having our very last Student Showcase. We want to thank the Dance Department at LMS for offering to be featured at our very last meeting. We will also be welcoming our new incoming 6th grade families. The meeting will be on Tuesday, May 8th beginning at 7:00 p.m. Please see the attached flyer for more information!

We need YOU for our PTSA school year 2012/2013. PTSA elections will take place on Tuesday, May 8th at our last meeting of the year. We have several critical areas of need:
a. We need a PTSA Treasurer! We have been functioning on and off throughout this year without a treasurer: you could make an incredible difference at LMS by volunteering for this position. The PTSA provides any incoming treasurer with a wealth of support, including the latest accounting software (quick books) and the use of a PTSA laptop. Please consider helping our school!
b. The following positions are also open: PTSA Vice President, Secretary, and Fundraising Chairperson. We will also be trying to recruit several 8th grade field trip coordinators early on so we do not have to once again cancel the PTSA planned 8th grade trip as we unfortunately had to do this year. Be a part of making LMS great and help the PTSA!
“If you haven’t had the opportunity yet to support the PTSA, it’s not too late! The PTSA will be hosting a Silent Auction at the very 1st Loiederman Arts Festival on Saturday, June 2nd, 2012. This will be our major fundraiser for the year, and you can be a part of it! Any and all donations will directly benefit all the LMS programs the PTSA supports, including student reward programs, Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO), scholarships for FARMS students, snacks for student during MSA testing, and more. Our Bylaws have been updated! Please see the attached old and revised bylaws. One major difference in our new bylaws we plan to approve: We now only require ONE PTSA Vice President as opposed to two VP’s. The rest of the bylaws have remained generally the same. The posted “Old” bylaws show exactly where revisions were made. Also attached are the proposed PENDING bylaws, to be approved at our last meeting.
