7th grade Immunization

For the 2017-2018 school year, all Grade 7 students, regardless of the date of entry into the school system, are required to have one tetanus, diphtheria, and aceHular pertussis (Tdap) and one meningococcal (MCV4) vaccination before the start of the school year, September 5, 2017. In addition, all students newly enrolled in Grades 8 through 10 are required to have one Tdap and one MCV4 vaccination prior to the start of the 2017-2018 school year. This includes students who will be repeating Grade 10 during the 2017-2018 school year. Students whose immunizations are out of compliance on the first day of school, September 5, 2017, will be allowed to remain in school for 20 calendar days with proof of an appointment for vaccination per COMAR, Temporary Admission or Retention. Students must then be excluded on the 21st calendar day and remain excluded until documentation of immunization is provided. Below is the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Vaccine Requirements For Children Enrolled in Preschool Programs and in Schools-Maryland School Year 2017-2018 (Attachment A). The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services will be providing free vaccination clinics to Grade 7 through 10 students at various locations around the county throughout July and August (Attachment B).

The student MUST be a rising 7th grade student or new to MCPS 8th grade student to be eligible for the free Tdap and MCV vaccines at these clinics.
You will need to provide proof of immunization to the health room.
