Extracurricular Activity Fee (ECA): Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) requires a fee for all middle school and high school students interested in participating in extracurricular activities that are not academic. This yearly fee of $30 covers all activities that a student may choose to participate in during the school year. A student may be eligible to a reduced fee if s/he meets the income requirements. You may now pay the fee online or complete the ECA form. If you choose to complete the ECA form, do not send your payment to the school. Please mail your payment to address on the form.
Eligibility Requirements: MCPS policy (Policy IQD, Regulation IQD-RB for Middle School Students), in summary, reads: In order to participate in activities, your child must have a 2.0 GPA. A student's report card will state whether they are eligible for extracurricular activities. The policy will not apply to 1st quarter for 6th grade students or any student entering MCPS schools for the first time. It also does not apply to students engaged in activities that are extensions of a graded course such as the Homework Help Club. Students in grade 6-12 must maintain a 2.0 grade point average with no more than one "E"; in the previous marking period to be eligible to participate in the following activities: Basketball, Math Team, Softball, Choral Music, Newspaper, Stage Crew, SGA, Instrumental Music, Soccer, Intramurals (Ex. Football), Chess Club, Jazz.
