Mission
Our mission is to provide equitable access of instruction and resources to create effective users of ideas and information, to develop and foster the love of reading, and to contribute to the development of lifelong learners.
Vision
The media program strives to create a safe and positive learning environment that promotes intellectual, social, and emotional development. We believe all users of the school community have access to the information and materials that support the curriculum as well as individual curiosities. The media center is a learning community that assists students in becoming efficient users, locators, and evaluators of information. The media center staff will promote and foster the love of reading by modeling enthusiasm for reading, sharing a variety of books available through book talks and book displays and interacting with students to pursue their interests. Additionally, the staff will work collaboratively with other educators to locate resources, plan authentic learning experiences, analyze data to meet individual student needs, and help increase professional development opportunities.
