Good evening this is Mr.
Rubens calling from Lee Middle School with your weekly update for the
week of October 12th.
On Monday, October 12th, parents and guardians are invited in to visit
their child’s classes as part of the Montgomery County Public Schools
Columbus Day open house. Parents can visit one or all of the classes
and mingle with other parents during the advisory period. Information
regarding our open house came home with students last week.
On Tuesday, there is a coed-cross country meet vs. White Oak MS @ 3:15
p.m.
The PTSA will hold its monthly meeting in the media center.
The meeting begins at 7:00pm. The topic is success in English and
reading. Our speaker will be Ms. Keir Lewis, our English and
reading resource teacher. Remember, you do not have to be a
PTSA member to attend all are welcome!
On Thursday, our 6th grade students travel to Breezy Point on a field
trip. Please contact Ms. Ruocco, our 6th grade team leader
with any questions.
Thursday evening, the Montgomery County Board of Education will hold a
community forum at John F. Kennedy High School. The
forum begins at 7:00pm.
Friday is the MSEA Teacher Convention, there is no school for students
and teachers.
On Saturday, October 17th, Dr. Dorothy I. Height,
president emerita of the National Council of Negro Women will be at our
school to kick off our new mentoring group partnership with
the National Council of Negro Women, Potomac Valley Section.
Finally, a reminder from Ms. Ashbery and Mr. Turner for our 7th grade
students. 7th grade has some available seats remaining for
the National Zoo field trip. If you are still interested in
joining the 7th grade for the trip, please be sure to turn in your
permission slips and money to Ms. Ashbery tomorrow.
