I attended Spelman College and majored in History. I later attended Howard University where I obtained my Masters in Guidance and Counseling. After graduating from Howard, I worked in higher education doing counseling, academic advising and teaching at Mount Vernon College, The Ohio State University and Howard University. I transitioned back into the secondary arena where I served as the Director of Guidance at Friendship Collegiate Academy in Washington, DC for 2 years.
