What is a cadre?

A group of staff, students, and parents who want to create a model middle school.

What will cadres do?
Each cadre will:

• Increase the input of everyone at LPMS

• Create a School Improvement Plan and research summary that we hope to have published!

How much time is required?

• 1-2 after school (or virtual) meetings per month on Mondays

• Meeting times may vary, but typically will begin at 3pm in an LPMS classroom.

• Personal time for reading, reflecting, and site visits.

• All students receive community service hours!

Research Cadre Groups

	Rigor 2020	How do we provide rigorous instruction for all students while preparing them for the year 2020?
	Student Engagement	How do we build student engagement? What kinds of projects and activities lead to student engagement, achievement, and are tied to the MCPS curriculum?
	Achievement Gap	How do we meet the diverse needs of students? How do we eliminate the achievement gap at LPMS?
	Student Behavior	How do we improve student behavior so all students are respectful and responsible at school?
	Staff Engagement	How do we build staff engagement?

How will we answer these questions?
