Good Evening Kingsview Family,
This is Principal Harrison with the Panther
In the wake of the senseless tragedy in
Parkland, Florida this past week I want to take a moment to assure the
Kingsview Middle School community of my/our commitment to the safety and
security of our students and staff. We have spent the last few days
reviewing our safety and security measures both as a school and with our
cluster security supervisor. We have also renewed our “See Something, Say
Something, Do Something.” Campaign with our students. This is all
designed to keep students and staff safe and secure. You may ask,” how
can I help?” My answer is based on a few simple reminders:
- Encourage your children to get an adult involved if
they became aware of a situation that may potentially cause harm or a
disruption to the school environment. (Ex. a physical altercation)
- When you push the call button to enter the school building, please state your
business every time and have legal ID (ex. driver’s license) ready to
present to the main office staff in order to get a visitors badge.
- Make sure your visitor’s badge is clearly displayed at
all times when in the building. When you have completed your business in
the building please return to the main office to turn in your visitor’s
- Do not hold or open doors for individuals trying to
gain entry to the building. All visitors must go through the Access
- Notify the main office in advance if you send an
alternate person (anyone other than a parent or legal guardian) to pick up
your child for appointments, or family emergencies at any time during the
school day. We will not release students to an alternate person without either
written or verbal confirmation from a parent or guardian.
I also want to thank our amazing PTSA for
another stellar “Kingsview’s Got Talent” show this year. It was truly an
outstanding display of our phenomenal students. Special Thanks goes to Mrs.
Sarah Kessler and Mrs. Courtney Flaherty for their leadership in making
Kingsview’s Got Talent an overwhelming success.
