Good Evening Kingsview Family. 

Here are a few important reminders for this week:  

  • Monday, October 9th- Parents are invited to participate in our annual Open House. This is a great opportunity to visit classrooms and observe our instructional program. Please ask your child for a copy of the schedule they created last week.  Visitation will be held from 8:30-2:30 pm. Parents are reminded that parking is limited.

 

  • Tuesday, October 10th – Our first PTSA General Meeting will be held at 7pm in the Media Center.  Dr. Krystal Lewis will discuss Coping Strategies for the Anxious Child.  And our own Katie Mendelson will discuss (mindfulness strategies).  We'll also discuss the happenings at KMS.  Please RSVP to Beth Landis at president@kmsptsa.org

 

  • Wednesday, October 11th - PSAT DAY!  All 8th grade students who registered for the PSAT will report to their assigned testing classroom at KMS in the morning.  The PSAT will be administered periods 1-4.

 

  • Thursday, October 12th - Please come support both our Boys' and Girls' softball team as they play against Ridgeview MS.  The boys' game will be away at Ridgeview MS and the girls' game will be at Kingsview MS.  Both games begin at 3:30 pm. 

 

  • Thursday, October 12th - Our first Kingsview Close-up will be held at Woodcliffe Clubhouse at 6:30pm.  This is a great informal opportunity to meet the administrators, share ideas, meet new families and learn What's Happening at KMS.  Woodcliffe Clubhouse is located at 18501 Broken Timber Way, Boyds 20841. Hope to see you there!

 

  • Friday, October 13th- Due to the deactivation of the student emergency card section in the MyMCPS Parent Portal, parents MUST update their child’s emergency information ON THE PAPER EMERGENCY FORM.  The revised student emergency form must be returned to your child’s Period 1 teacher NO LATER THAN Friday, October 13th.

 

  • Friday, October 13th -This year’s canned food drive is in full swing!  The SGA is still collecting canned food until Friday, October 13th.  All donations of non-perishable food will be given to Manna Food Center.

  • Outdoor Education is only a little over 1 week away! Session 1 is from Monday, October 16th – Wednesday, October 18th.Students with the last name (A-G only)

 

  • Northwest High School cordially invites all families of elementary and middle school students in the community to attend the 8th annual Northwest Preview Night on Wednesday, October 18, at 7:00 pm in the Northwest High School Auditorium to learn more about the outstanding academic programs and extracurricular opportunities available to students at Northwest.  Among other things, the evening will feature performances by student organizations, and student speakers will share their experiences in the Ulysses Signature Program.  There will also be information about the Middle College program, in which students can earn an associate’s degree from Montgomery College while in high school.   This event is open to all families of future Northwest students, not just 8th graders!

 

  • Friday, October 20th - Attention all KMS students, ghosts and goblins!  The Annual PTSA Halloween Party is coming. All students MUST submit a signed permission slip to the main office by Wednesday, October 18th to attend the party.  Don't miss the costumes, dancing, candy and haunted courtyard!  Turn in your permission slip as soon as possible.
