Mrs. Elizabeth Thomas

It is my pleasure to serve and lead Kingsview Middle School as the principal.  I have the privilege of leading a school community as we continually strive for excellence. I relish the relationships I have forged with so many of the Kingsview families and take great pride in getting to know more members of our family each year. One of my favorite things is that this community school really feels like a family.

For those of you who may not know much about me, I want to share a glimpse of who I am. I grew up in Northern Virginia and earned my undergraduate degree in Health and Physical Education from Radford University.  I started teaching at Sligo Middle School and after earning my masters in School Administration, I began my administrative career at Kingsview Middle School.  My husband, Milton, and I have two children; Marcus (age 15) and Camille (turning 5 in September). We enjoy spending time with our families, playing and watching sports, cooking, and taking vacations. Throughout the years, I’m sure you will get to know all of us. Marcus and Camille love attending school events with me, as their mom it is my job to ensure that they have spirit wear from Kingsview and their own schools.

My vision for Kingsview is we are a welcoming and safe learning community where all students are challenged to reach and exceed high levels of academic excellence. We are a group of extraordinary people with an unwavering commitment to give all students of every background the competitive edge. We ensure equity for all students so they may receive the individual support they need. Technology is used to make learning relevant and to help the classroom come alive. Students, staff, and parents are partners in the shared success of the school. We are a key point on the pathway to college and career readiness.

We have so many fabulous things in place at Kingsview. As someone who has had the   opportunity to serve Kingsview for ten years, I am well aware of the many incredible attributes Kingsview possesses and I am honored to share our success with you.

You are always welcomed in our school and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Mr. Carl Bencal

It is my pleasure to serve as one of the assistant principals at Kingsview Middle School.  My experiences have provided me with a balanced blend of school-based educational leadership and central office administration.  I have had the privilege to serve under individuals whom I feel are some of the finest educational leaders in the county.  I gained knowledge of their metacognitive processes by asking questions and engaging in reflective dialogue.  Through observation and communication, I believe that I was able to effectively assimilate their leadership qualities into my leadership repertoire.

My self-expectations are very high and I lead through example.  At the heart of my passion for teaching and learning are two tenets that define me as a person and educational leader.  I value an ethic of care as a moral obligation and believe that every child has the right to learn.  These two core principles were instilled in me as a graduate student almost ten years ago.  My advisor was a brilliant teacher and always held rich and deeply meaningful dialogues on these topics throughout my graduate program.  At Kingsview Middle School, “We A.R.R.E. focused on student results.  For every child, everyday.”  The “A” stands for access.  The first “R” represents relationships.  The second “R” denotes rigor and the “E” signifies equity.  All four of these school-wide foci correspond with my core values and beliefs.  I feel that maintaining an ethic of care is central to relationship building, while giving students equitable access to a rigorous curriculum is at the heart of my belief that every child has the right to learn.  I believe that cultivating caring relationships with and between all school and community stakeholders is imperative to a school’s continued commitment to improvement.

Mrs. Ericka Singleton

Mrs. Singleton believes that all students are capable of high achievement, and is excited to be able to have an impact on teaching and learning here at Kingsview.  Her goal is to eliminate the predictability of student performance, both academically and behaviorally, and to ensure that all students have equal access to rigorous instruction everyday.  She anticipates wonderful successes for Kingsview this school year, and is proud to be a part of Kingsview community!
