ACES

The ACES Program at Montgomery College offers a personalized, seamless educational pathway from high school to college completion, helping prepare high school students for learning and life. Please visit our ACES page for more information!

CAVS-X

CAVS-X is a tutoring program that provides academic assistance to students from 2:45-3:45 p.m. each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Located in the media center, teachers provide assistance in English, mathematics, science, social studies, and foreign language.

George B. Thomas Learning Academy

The George B. Thomas, Sr. Learning Academy, Inc. is a tutoring and mentoring program that has been in operation since 1986. Saturday School centers are at twelve sites in Montgomery County (including Kennedy) and serve over 3,000 students annually on Saturday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. from October through May.

High School Plus

High School Plus enables students who have failed courses required for graduation to retake these courses for credit in their home schools. Students may also take a course for original credit if space is available. Visit the High School Plus page for more information and the current schedule.

Homework Hotline

Students can call for live, one-on-one help from 4:30-6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, or submit questions online from 4:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Mondays. During the TV broadcast, questions are answered on-air; online questions receive online responses. Lunch and Learn

We provide an extended lunch period, which provides students an opportunity to receive academic assistance from their teachers. Each teacher provides a schedule of his or her availability during lunch. Students who need assistance in coordinating their lunch and learn schedule can meet with their teacher, AMP Mentor or school counselor.

National Honor Society (NHS) Tutoring

The National Honor Society offers peer tutoring for 9th grades students. Tutoring will occur during the Academy Mentoring Period on Tuesday and Thursday. Writing Center

The writing center provides students assistance with writing assignments, research papers, essays, and other academic writing projects. Students can request a pass and visit the writing center during lunch or after school during CAVS-X. The writing center is located in room 222C.
