- Students will maintain a consistent pattern of daily attendance.
- Students will adhere to the assigned dates for class work
- Students will maintain individual portfolios throughout enrollment in LTI.
- Students will participate in Wednesday “Dress for Success” days.
- Students will maintain an overall “B” average in LTI classes.
- Students will maintain a minimum GPA of 2.4; honor roll achievement is expected each quarter.
- Probationary status will be given to students who earn less than an overall “B” average in LTI courses or lower than a 2.4 GPA altogether in any given marking period.
- Grade of “C” warrants a student-teacher conference.
- If no improvement occurs during the marking period following the probationary status, the student may be recommended for program exit after student-teacher conference.
- Students are required to perform 50 hours of community service per year (July 16 to July 15) in LTI-approved projects.
- Students will maintain logs/records and written reflections about service in their portfolios.
- NEW: The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) accepts specific service learning activities. See the JFK service learning coordinator (main office) for a list of approved activities and agencies. Activities and agencies may or may not be consistent with what is approved by LTI. LTI service hours must be verified with the LTI director. You must check with the JFK service learning coordinator to verify the MSDE service hours.
- Students must provide the LTI office with copies of MCPS Form 560-1: Verification of Student Service Learning Activities.
- Failure to meet community service requirements will result in student-teacher conference or recommendation for program exit.
- Students are expected to maintain high standards of honesty and integrity.
- Plagiarism and cheating will absolutely not be tolerated; either will result in a student-teacher conference with recommended program exit.
- Lying and deceptive behavior will not be tolerated and will result in a student-teacher conference and recommended program exit.
- Basic courtesy to classmates and staff members will be demonstrated at all times.
- Demonstrating appropriate listening skills.
- Contributing to an orderly functioning of classroom activities.
- Contributing to the maintenance of a safe and productive physical environment in the classroom.
- Students are expected to adhere to all rules of Montgomery County Public Schools and John F. Kennedy High School as outlined in the student handbook.
