Family Connection

I am pleased to introduce Family Connection from Naviance, a Web-based service designed especially for students and families. Family Connection is a comprehensive website that you can use to help in making decisions about your colleges and careers. Family Connection is linked with Counselor’s Office, a service that we use in our office to track and analyze data about college and career plans, so it provides up-to-date information that’s specific to our school.

To access Family Connection, you will need a personal access code, which Ms. Carroll will provide for you and your parents may have access as well.

I hope you find this service helpful as we will communicate via this site during your high school years.

Career Planning

I am pleased to introduce a new assessment that will allow us to determine your personality and career interests.  This new personality assessment tool is called Do What You Are and as you take it, will help you learn more about yourself.  Do What You Are is intended to help you focus on who you are and what educational path is best for you.

You can access Do What You Are through Family Connection.  Once you have logged onto Family Connection with your user name and password, simply click on "my personality type" to access the Do What You Are inventory.  If you need to break in between, make sure you select the icon that says "Finish Later".

Family Connection is linked with College Planner, a service that we use in our office to track and analyze data about college and career plans, so it provides up-to-date information that’s specific to our school.

Note: Through this web site there is input by the school Registrar, the College Career Center Coordinator and the students. After you have put in college choices, you will be able to compare your GPA and SAT scores with students who have been accepted to that college through a scatter gram. You are able to create a resume, game plan, and college search. (By major, location, cost, size, etc.) You are also able to track your College Application process, view Test Scores (SAT/ACT/PSAT/AP), Cum. GPA, and search for scholarships.
