Black-Eyed Susan Program
Every year, the Maryland Association of School Librarians (MASL) nominates outstanding books for the Black-Eyed Susan award. The award is given to the best book for kids and is chosen by students across the state of Maryland.
Students in first and second grade will have a chance to vote on picture books. Students in third, fourth, and fifth grade will have a chance to vote on chapter books and picture books. To be eligible to vote, students must have read at least eight picture books or at least three chapter books. Third, fourth, and fifth graders must fill out a yellow book summary form, available in the Media Center. Voting will take place in April.
