Check the Montgomery County Volunteer Center's webpage to find agencies that have volunteer positions approved by Montgomery County Public Schools for Student Service Learning credit.
If the agency that you wish to earn SSL credit through is not on the approved
list of agencies, you must fill out MCPS Form 560-50 (2/07), Special Activity
Application for Student Service Learning, in advanceof starting the
volunteer work. Submit the form to the Student Service Learning coordinator
who will review the activity and determine if it fulfills Montgomery County
Public Schools' Special Activity Criteria. If the Special
Activity for Student Service Learning is denied, you may appeal the decision
to the principal of Hoover.
Once you complete your service activity, fill out the Verification of Student
Service Learning Activity form 560-51 (rev. 3/07) according to the guidelines.
MCPS Forms 560-50 and 560-51 are available in the guidance office or online at the Student
Service Learning Main Page.
Submit the form to Hoover's SSL coordinator, who will enter the hours into the system's computer. Hours will appear on the next quarter's report card.
Verification forms must be turned in for SSL credit hours the semester in which the activity was completed.
