The Great Depression Research

Your goal is to research a topic that was part of the Great Depression. You need to find information and key images to represent the significance of the event.
You will use NoodleTools to create a bibliography of the sources you use. Hints for NoodleTools are printed in pink.
Subscription Databases
Encyclopedia Britannica – Look up your topic using the key words suggested below. NoodleTools: Cite as a reference source (subscription database).
History Resource Center – Look up your topic using the key words suggested below. You can also use the Chronology tab, roll the mouse over the Timeline bar to select the time period you want to learn about. NoodleTools: Cite anything under “Reference Materials” using this path: reference source” → online → other → subscription database. Put the name of the “Source Database” found at the top of most articles into the blank for the “title of reference book” and look at the “source citation” at the bottom for the year of publication. Under the tab “Periodicals” you will find both magazines and journals. Under Periodicals there are also articles called “commentary.” Treat it like a magazine and use “Commentary” as the magazine title. The date and author are usually at the top of the article.
SIRS Decades – Look under the Decade and topic named in the chart below. NoodleTools: Look at the top tab. On the Primary Sources tab there are many speeches – cite under “Audiovisual” as a speech. Under Reference, follow this path: reference source” → online → other → subscription database.
SIRS Discoverer – Look up your topic using the key words suggested below.. Noodletools: Look at the top of the article you are using to see what type of source this article came from (magazine, newspaper, etc.). That will tell you what type of citation you must use.
Key Word Chart – A “P” means you can find photos there.
