Your goal is to research a topic of the Civil War. You need to find information and key images to represent the significance of the event.
You will use NoodleTools to create a bibliography of the sources you use. Hints for NoodleTools are printed in pink.
Subscription Databases – You can search “American Civil War” in addition to the key words in the chart below.
Facts for Learning – Type the search term in the chart below into the search box. Look across the top of each column to find the best relevant articles. NoodleTools: Look at the top tab to see what citation type you should use. Encyclopedias and Almanacs are “Reference source”. Classroom Periodicals are “magazines.”
Encyclopedia Britannica - Look up your topic using the key words suggested below. NoodleTools: Cite as a reference source (subscription database).
Student Resource Center – Student Resource Center: Use the search box AND click on “KEYWORD” for the best results. NoodleTools: Look at the top tab and at the top of your article to see what citation type you should use. For Reference (except for encyclopedias) follow this path: reference source” → online → other → subscription database. Academic Journals are citation type “Journal.”

National Geographic: The Underground Railroad – You can learn more about the Underground Railroad by pretending you are a slave escaping from Maryland. You make choices to move you along the Underground Railroad. Use headphones or turn down your volume for this website.
