We create literate and thoughtful communicators who use language effectively in our increasingly complex, information-rich world.
ESOL
Provides intensive instruction to support English language acquisition for the English Language Learners (ELLs) enrolled in the ESOL. Students receive systematic instruction in the ESOL content area, using the rigorous, locally developed standards-based ESOL curriculum.
World Languages
Communications, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities -- Hoover’s program emphasizes using language as it used in real life situations.
Counseling
The counseling department supports academic, personal, and social development for all students to enable them to reach their full potential. Services are provided to students in a variety of settings, including the classroom and individual and group counseling sessions.
Health
Health Education is a nine week course which is part of the Physical Education rotation. The overall goal of this course is that by the end of the nine weeks students will have increased knowledge of health and will know what can be done to prevent health problems and make healthy choices.
Math
At Hoover, we promote rigorous math instruction with high expectations for all students. The math teachers strive to present real-world examples in the units of study in order to make the content meaningful to students.
