International Walk to School Day

With banner held high, the Highland View Elementary School community enthusiastically participated in International Walk to School Day.  The purpose of the walk was to highlight the importance of pedestrian safety  promote the benefits of physical fitness and to strengthen community relationships.  Mr. Benedetti, PE teacher, planned this event with members of the PTA.

As the students arrived, the police distributed trick-or-treat bags with safety messages printed on them.

With outstretched arms, Sonja, a first grader summed up the event as "Exciting!"
