Each semester, we host two workshops geared at giving young girls the tools they need to learn about, and gain skills in, cybersecurity. It is open to girls of all skill levels, but is geared more towards beginners or those seeking to expand their knowledge of cybersecurity concepts. Our next workshop will be on December 2nd, and it will run from 9:00-3:00, hosting up to 70 girls. The workshop is run with four different sessions, covering topics such as programming, internet and social media safety, password protection, cryptography, and privacy protection. The sessions are taught by college students majoring in computer science and cybersecurity fields, and at the end of the day students will be making posters about cybersafety that they will present to their families. The workshop costs $30 and covers workshop attendance, lunch, and a t-shirt. See the flyer.
