We, the
loyalists, feel that Britain has protected us through all obstacles and
hardships of
life and war. When we have needed them, they have come to our aid and
fought for us.
Britain has guided us through life and gave
us taxes on goods, but the taxes are to
help us survive with the King. We have had to have soldiers in our homes
to keep us
safe during the war. However, the Patriots have been against Britain for
every action
that they have taken. For example, the Patriots protested in the streets
for a tiny bit of
tax on tea and other goods.
The Patriots had no right doing what they did
throwing that perfectly good tea into
the Boston Harbor. If the people (Loyalists) could choose the Patriot's
punishment
it should be to hang them for ruining all ninety five thousand pounds of
tea that us
Loyalist paid taxes for.
Sincerely,
The Loyalist
