Staff Spotlight
Dear
Little Tadpoles and Families,
I am
so happy to share a little information about myself.
This is my second year teaching at The Creek. I am
originally from Pennsylvania and attended Penn State
University for my undergraduate degree in Elementary
Education. We are…Penn State! My students know that I
love Penn State so much I named my kitten after the
football coach, Joe Paterno. I am planning to attend
Johns Hopkins University this fall to pursue my Masters
Degree in reading.
My
favorite hobby is dancing. I have been dancing ballet
since I was three, tap since I was five, and jazz since
I was eight. I have danced in New York City and even
tried out for the Redskins cheerleading. My favorite
television shows are So You Think You Can Dance and
Dancing with the Stars. I hope to get into ballroom
dancing this summer. My students know that I love to
read. I always say that every book is my favorite. I
love everything from the classics to the Harry Potter.
I also enjoy helping my students make connections to
various series.
My
favorite part of teaching is seeing the smile on my
students’ faces when they work hard and reach their
goals. I wanted to become a teacher ever since I
was young. I use to play school with my little
sister, Casey, and our stuffed animals. I always
looked up to my Aunt Kim, who is also a teacher, which
is another reason I decided to go into teaching. She is
a great role model to her students and I hope that I can
be the same.
I am so happy to get
the opportunity to learn how to be a better teacher
with the help of the best professional staff I know.
I am also excited to get to know more Bullfrog
families at the Creek over the next few years!
