Dear Parents, Students, and Friends of Goshen Elementary School,
Welcome to our updated website! Please explore the different links so you can learn all about our wonderful school. The excellence of Goshen Elementary School is a result of the combined efforts of our dedicated staff, hardworking students, and involved parents. Our staff consists of over 65 committed professionals who provide an effective instructional program for each and every student. Staff Development is a strong component of our professional learning community as we collaborate to maintain the high standard of achievement at Goshen. Highlights of our instructional program include:On the MCPS 2003 School Environment survey, parent responses registered high levels of satisfaction with our instructional program on comments such as "My child is given challenging material to learn" and "My child's teachers challenge my child to do his (her) best." 100% of our responding parents agreed with the statement, "My child's teachers expect my child to do his (her) schoolwork." Our 690 students come to school every day ready to be involved in learning activities. A climate of mutual respect supports the cooperative learning of our students. The Goshen Grizzly Bear presides over a safe and nurturing learning environment. Students who exhibit the BEAR characteristics of exemplary BEHAVIOR, EFFORT, ATTITUDE, and RESPECT are recognized by receiving BEAR awards throughout the year. Student leadership and talent are developed through our extracurricular activities, such as:
