FEE WAIVER ELIGIBILITY for the SAT (FROM COLLEGE BOARD): As an eligible student, you can receive a total of four fee waivers during your high school career - two for use on the SAT Reasoning Test and two for the SAT Subject Tests. You can choose to use your waivers in either your junior or senior year. FEE WAIVERS CANNOT BE USED AFTER REGULAR REGISTRATION DEADLINES, except for the October test. Montgomery College (formerly MCPS) SAT Prep Course Registration Information - The SAT Preparation Program that has been administered by the Montgomery County Public Schools Adult Education Office for the past 25 years has transitioned to Montgomery College. It will be administered by the Workforce Development & Continuing Education office. The curriculum and design of the program will continue as before. Montgomery College will maintain current course locations in various MCPS high schools. |

The Preliminary SAT®/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a co-sponsored program by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).
PSAT/NMSQT stands for Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. It's a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT Reasoning Test™. It also gives JUNIORS a chance to enter National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) scholarship programs.

The PSAT was administered on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at all Montgomery County Public Schools. This test is given once a year.

FEE WAIVER ELIGIBILITY for the ACT:
- Student must currently attend high school as a junior or senior.
- Student must meet at least one indicator of economic need listed on the ACT fee waiver form (available in the college/career center).
- Student may register TWICE with an ACT fee waiver, either in the junior or senior year. The waiver has been used once you register, even if you do not test.
- Effective July 1, 2007, students can use the ACT fee waiver to register either by mail or online.
ACT Fee waivers cover ONLY the basic registration fee for either the ACT (No Writing) or the ACT Plus Writing. Waivers do not cover the late fee, test date changes, test center changes, or any other fees. For more information on ACT Fee waivers, CLICK HERE.
