  • Go to "Issues and Controversies," (GHS home page -> Media Center -> Online Resources -> Click on I), and click on Access All Topics. Click on "W", then choose the article, "Weapons of Mass Destruction: National High School Debate Topic," and read the section on Missile Defense: 21st Century Deterrence.
  • Read pp. 5-6 in the Article: U.S. Foreign Policy Agenda (found on Google searching: Bush and "foreign policy" and "weapons of mass destruction").
 
What is the U.S. position on the use of nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons of mass destruction?
  • Go to "ABC-CLIO's American Government" database, and click on Advanced Search . Type in "weapons of mass destruction" in the box, with the quotes, and check off the category "Domestic and Foreign Policy." Then click on "Search." Scroll down and read article 17: " United Nations: Convention on Bacteriological and Toxin Weapons (1972)."
  • Read the article: The U.S. Position on the Biological Weapons Convention: Combating the BW Threat.
  • Read the article: Nuclear, Chemical, And Biological Weapons.
  • Go to http://www.fas.org/man/crs/IB93033.pdf. Read the section, "U. S.- Iran Relations and Sanctions," especially the part about Economic Sanctions .

(You must have a space between the U. and the S.) Leave the last two terms to search in full text. Scroll down and read the article: "South Asia Nuclear Threat on Rise; India, Pakistan Build up Arsenals."
  • Read the section on Bush Administration Policy in North Korea's Nuclear Weapons Program.
  • Go to the CRS Issue Brief Iran: Current Developments and U.S. Policy. Read the section, "U. S.- Iran Relations and Sanctions," especially the part about Economic Sanctions .

  • Go to "ABC-CLIO's American Government" database, and click on the "American Government" icon on the left. Type in "foreign policy" and "international organizations" in the box, with the quotes. Then filter the articles returned by selecting "Groups and Organizations" and clicking "Filter my Results". Read the article on the Department of State.
