THE GHS WRITING CENTER
The GHS Writing Center, located in lab 1126, is operated by Leslie Fowler and Arnett Holloway for students to work on homework, college essays, and test preparation:
- at lunchtime,
- during ShowTime, and
- after school from 2:30 to 4:30.
In addition, Robert Harper is available in the Media Center every day except Friday until 3:30.
The Writing Center offers resource materials and conducts mini workshops on prewriting and brainstorming, thesis statements, the research paper, formal and informal writing, resume and cover letters, job applications, and college essays.

WRITE AFTER SCHOOL
A pilot program that is separate but related to the GHS Writing Center, Write After School provides one-on-one assistance to selected students in grades nine through twelve. Students focus on completing specific homework assignments and test preparation on Tuesdays from 3 to 4 in lab 1126.
