GHS Summer Reading 2016

ALL students in English classes (9-12, on-level, honors, and AP) MUST complete the general summer reading assignment. AP English students: please see below for additional assignments.

ALL students must click here to access the instructions for Summer Reading and sign-up for one of the texts on this list. If you have questions or concerns, please send an email to GHS.SUMMERREADING@GMAIL.COM and include your name and student ID number. 

ALL students must complete a graphic organizer for the selected text. You may access the options here. Be sure to complete the correct organizer for the type of text you read! 

AP English Students: In addition to completing the general program, you must also complete the AP summer reading requirements. Please be sure to click on the correct course below to access the correct assignment for your AP English course.

AP English Language, grade 11 (with Cooper and Tinsley): This assignment is for RISING JUNIORS enrolled in AP English Language 11 for 2016-17. Please click here to access the directions for your summer reading assignments.

AP English Literature, grade 12 (with Green, Herman, and Wecht): This assignment is for RISING SENIORS enrolled in AP English Literature 12 for 2016-17. Please click here to access the directions. All students received a letter notifying them of the process for book pick-up at the end of the prior school year; these students should have picked up their copies before the end of the prior school year. If you are newly enrolled and need a copy of the text, please call the school to make an appointment to pick up a copy of the text. Otherwise, you may access the text at the local library.
