Before and After School Programs

At Gaithersburg, we offer many after school programs to help students with their academics.

Chess Club

Students in grades 2-5 are invited to come in Wednesday mornings from 8:00-8:40 and play chess with each other.

Computer Lab

Students in grades 3-5 can come in Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8:15-8:40 to practice memorizing their math facts using a program called FASTT Math.

Students in grades K-5 can come in Tuesday and Thursday mornings starting in December to perform inquiry based science experiments.

PTA Information

The goal of the Gaithersburg Elementary School PTA is to be a voice for our children. We encourage communication between parents, teachers, and administrators, raise funds and awareness, and provide programs for students and families that encourage academic success for our children.

Ways to Support GES

Volunteer

Our school is stronger with your support. We are always looking for volunteers to help with student arrival, lunch and recess monitoring, copying and creating of materials. Call the school at 301-840-7136

Box Tops 4 Education

There is a plastic jug in the office to place the box tops that you cut off of products like mashed potatoes, cake mix and toaster struedels. Each Box Top turned in earns the school 10 cents. That adds up quickly!

Giant and Safeway Club Cards for Education

Every time you use your Giant or Safeway club cards you can earn cash for GES. All numbers must be reregistered every school year so past supporters and new supporters need to fill theirs out today. Store numbers to donate to GES are: Giant #00794 and Safeway #6506428. If you have any questions contact Ms. Rowe.

Parent Academy Classes This Week

The George B. Thomas, Sr. Learning Academy is a Saturday tutoring program promoting academic confidence through extra academic support, enrichment and mentoring. It is only $30 to register for 23 Saturday morning sessions.
