Timeline
- One school year has passed since we have transitioned to the Tilden Holding Center, we will be here for another school year (2008-2009)
School Start Time
The 2008-2009 school years at Tilden Holding Center (THC ) will begin as scheduled in the MCPS comprehensive calendar on August 26, 2008
The school day will last from 7:40 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.
Transportation
All students will be held to a high standard of conduct regarding appropriate bus behavior
Students will be picked up at their regular bus stops. However, pick up time will be earlier (approximately 25 minutes) to accommodate the commute
FSKMS has been given permission to have camera buses which will assist in monitoring appropriate bus behavior
Administration will publish a parent handbook outlining stringent bus expectations for students
Extracurricular Activities
FSKMS will have an extracurricular program. Activities will be held after school from 3:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Activity buses will be used to drop students of at designated bus stops
FSKMS will compete against schools in the Tilden area for interscholastic athletics
Administration is exploring the possibility of having student athletes dropped off at a feeder elementary school after games
How Will Students Be Supported?
Administration is providing opportunities for students during the day.
FSKMS will discuss alternative ways for students to meet with teachers, discuss progress, and to get help with academics.
FSKMS is considering embedding support for students into the regular school day.
