Maryland School Assessment (MSA) Portal

The Maryland School Assessment (MSA) is a test of reading, math, and science achievement that meets the testing requirements of the federal No Child Left Behind Act. See overview of MSA. The test is given each year in early March in reading and math at grades 3 - 8. See the MSA Test Calendar.

The tests are based on the Maryland State Curriculum (VSC). Students are currently tested in math and reading. Beginning in spring 2007, the MSA/Science will be field-tested in grades 5 and 8. To learn what is taught, including sample test items for grades
