Recycling is a very important part of our daily lives. Helping recyle is very important to do because it helps the community in many ways such as making animal habitats cleaner. In our school, Forest Oak MIddle, we have been going around in classrooms, offices, team rooms, and computer rooms checking the recycling bins. On our first trip around the school, we found many things that should not have been in the recycling bins. We found that people were putting trash, such as gum, old pencils, and tissues inside the recycling can.

Inside of the trash can, we found a lot of paper that could have been recycled. There were cans, paper books, ect. My group and I brought a big trash can for recylcing so that we could sort out the trash and recycling stuff. We left a "report card" inside the room on how that room did with recycling. Not too many people did well. We graded them and told them how they did. On our next time back around, we found that many classrooms did better, and some classrooms made a sign on the cans telling which one is which so that you could know where your trash goes.

I have noticed that there has been a big change. I'm proud that we were able to make a difference.
